Gentil’s Watermill
Given its unique character, Gentil’s watermill is Rêverie’s ‘stage’ par excellence.
A place where you can feel the joy of meetings, and the memories of a grassroots past.
Gentil’s is a disused mill nestled in the valleys of the Barrocal region, a short distance from Fonte Filipe, Querença - Loulé. The mill is a family heirloom, it was acquired by Leonor's grandparents in 1951 and was recently restored in 2022. Integrated in a Natura 2000, nature protection area, with an Algarvian trail at its doorstep, it open up to an unique ecosystem.
Living next to the Mercês creek, a temporary waterway, the site is a natural and historical heritage, making smart use of a precious resource by which water is channeled through small stone “levadas”- testament to the ancestry of the landscape.
It is a tranquil and silent place, ideal for disconnecting and leaving our worries behind. With our feet firmly grounded, we can experience an earthly connection with nature promoting well-being and harmony. It could even be said that there is a certain spiritual heritage that reveals itself in a particular way to each and everyone of us.
